What we do

We act as the Institutional representative of our Associates, in Portugal and Europe, according to three strategic lines of action.

Contribution to the development of energy policy and sector regulation, with national and international entities.

Promoting innovation as a catalyst for energy transition and efficiency and, also, value creation for the economy and society.

Developing the knowledge of industry and society and promoting the role of electricity sector and power uses.

Activities

Our main activities are:

To evaluate and ensure contributions to legal documents and technical standards for the electricity sector, seeking to clarify and monitor the evolution of the sector.

To collaborate and communicate studies and position papers on the most relevant topics with an impact on national and European energy sector.

To participate and contribute to EURELECTRIC committees and working groups.

To promote and collaborate in studies and evaluations of the electricity sector on current topics and trends and innovation, with associates and/or national entities.

To promote reflection and debate on successful experiences and best practices, as well as innovative solutions.

To actively represent the national electricity sector at key moments in the promotion and dissemination of the industry (such as, conferences and forums).

To analyse and disseminate sectoral statistics on electricity sector’s activity.

To hold ELECPOR’s annual conference, addressing the future of electricity through presentations and debates.

Eurelectric

As the national representative at EURELECTRIC (the federation of the European electricity industry), ELECPOR is a member of its Board of Directors and participates in committees and working groups, contributing to the permanent defence of the European electricity sector positions, namely with the European Commission and the European Parliament.
