EDP, leader in the energy transition, has today more than 85% of its global production coming from renewable sources. With an ambitious plan to invest 25 billion euros in the energy transition by 2026, EDP is shaping the future with a focus on renewables and electricity grids. The company’s commitment is clear: to be coal neutral by 2025 and 100% renewable by 2030.

EEM, S.A. is a vertically integrated company, carrying out the activities of production, transportation, distribution and commercialisation of electricity in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM), under the regulation of ERSE, and also acquiring electricity from private producers. The activities of transportation, distribution and commercialisation of electricity in the Autonomous Region of Madeira are exclusively carried out by EEM.

Elecgas owns the Pego Combined Cycle Power Plant, located in Abrantes municipality, and generates electricity using natural gas as fuel. The plant has been in operation since 2011, has a capacity of 837 MW and is fundamental to Portugal’s electricity supply.

Iberdrola has been committed to the energy transition towards a decarbonised economy for more than 20 years. The group supplies energy to almost 100 million people in dozens of countries, with a focus on renewable energies, smart grids and intelligent solutions for customers.

Movhera is the operator of Portugal’s second largest hydroelectric portfolio, which includes Miranda, Picote, Bemposta (all run-of-river), Baixo Sabor, Feiticeiro and Foz Tua (the latter with pumped storage). These plants have a total installed capacity of 1.7 GW and produce 3.2 TWh of green energy.

Turbogás was established in 1994 to build, finance and manage the 990 MW Tapada do Outeiro natural gas combined cycle power plant in Gondomar. The plant started commercial operation in March 1999 and was the anchor project for the introduction of natural gas in Portugal, making a significant contribution to the country’s electricity supply.
