On World Energy Day, May 29th, ELECPOR participated in the @Lisbon Energy Summit, in Session 9 “Ensuring the grid is renewable energy ready: Regulations, permitting, enhanced technologies & increased efficiencies”, in the Climate Tech program.

The Director General of ELECPOR, Maria João Coelho, together with her fellow panelists, Rui Miguel Gonçalves, E-Redes, Pedro Gomes Perreira, Eurowind Energy, Timo Drewes, Fluence Energy and Jeremy Harrison, LCP Delta, discussed the importance of grids for electrification and decarbonization, challenges, possible solutions and success stories, as well as the involvement of local stakeholders. The panel was moderated by Martyn Link, Link Advisory Services.

ELECPOR highlighted 3 essential key messages:

– regulatory stability;
– priority to implementation;
– and speed needed, particularly from the point of view of permitting and access to funding.

The sense of urgency and call to action was a guiding principle of the various interventions.
